The Municipal Sports Directorate of the municipality received the outstanding Greco-Roman wrestling coach Raúl Trujillo Díaz, after his participation in the Pan American Games held this year in the city of Santiago de Chile.
Royslán Cámbara Sosa, first secretary of the Party in the locality, accompanied by the highest political and governmental authorities of the territory, students, teachers and other directors and guests, doubly congratulated Trujillo Díaz for his prolific career and his 70th birthday; while the latter, thanked the affection and support of the Betancourenses to his work in favor of Cuban sport.
Likewise, Emilio Morales Álvarez, historian of the Héctor Mederos Argüelles Sports Museum of the town, reviewed the work of Trujillo Díaz and praised the imprint of this prestigious coach.
Recognized for his stellar leadership of the Cuban Greco-Roman wrestling team and the golden titles he has awarded to the nation, Raúl Trujillo Díaz is a symbol of perseverance and greatness for Cuba, mainly for the people of Pedro Betancourt.
