BANDEC and the Historical Archive: united in pursuit of solar energy.

The result is a cooperation model that prioritizes services, optimizes resources, and places both entities in a strategic relationship with concrete benefits for the public.

The Bank of Credit and Commerce (BANDEC) and the Matanzas Provincial Historical Archive signed a collaboration agreement that sets a precedent in the relationship between the banking system and heritage institutions in the province.

The agreement will allow for the installation of solar panels on the Archive’s roof, with the aim of ensuring energy stability and strengthening the services of both entities.

The initiative has a dual purpose. On the one hand, BANDEC will be able to showcase and prioritize its services in a space of high social value; on the other, the Archive will ensure the continuity of its essential services, even in challenging energy scenarios.

This is the first time the two institutions have formalized an alliance of this kind, based on shared interests and mutual benefits.
From a legal perspective, the agreement establishes clear commitments regarding the use, maintenance, and management of the installed infrastructure.

The energy generated will be used to support document search services, especially those related to processes of Spanish ancestry, as well as the operation of the computers and internal systems that support public services.

The collaboration not only strengthens the Archive’s operational capacity but also safeguards its high standards of quality and excellence in managing historical memory. The stable power supply will allow research processes, certifications, and specialized consultations to continue uninterrupted, without affecting users.

For BANDEC, the alliance represents a direct path to integration with the institutional fabric of Matanzas, with a tangible impact on the community.

For the Archive, it means technological support and sustainability. The result is a cooperative model that prioritizes services, optimizes resources, and places both entities in a strategic relationship with concrete benefits for the public.
