Pedro Betancourt’s economy needs to be revitalized.
Susely Morfa González, first secretary of the Party of Matanzas province, called for the implementation of new strategies to boost the economy and improve the quality of life of the population, in an exchange with the highest authorities and directors of Pedro Betancourt municipality.
Morfa Gonzalez emphasized the need to strengthen local self-sufficiency, improve government control mechanisms in order to achieve greater autonomy and combat abusive prices, while she urged the constructive renovation, socio-cultural vitality and preparation of cadres in this territory.
On the other hand, Marieta Poey Zamora, vice-governor of Matanzas province territory, pointed out the potential of the bankarization process and urged to increase the educational coverage of the town, reinforce informatization and the fight against political-ideological subversion through social networks and increase local development projects aimed at the production and elaboration of foodstuffs.
Likewise, Mayor Gladys Rodríguez López presented the town’s economic, political and social development strategy for the present 2024, paying special attention to the livestock modules, the planting of extra-dense plantain and the fulfillment of the dairy plan, as well as the execution of projects that support the production of construction materials, the approval of an agro-industrial company and the increase of organoponics in the Socorro and Manuelito communities, among others.
