Tensions in the US.

In a recent statement, the Cuban government denounced the excessive use of force against protesters, many of whom belong to Afro-descendant and migrant communities.

Havana is observing with concern the latest developments in cities like Chicago and Portland, where the U.S. government has deployed military forces in response to civil unrest.

According to official Cuban media, this situation reflects a deep crisis of the neoliberal model, which has exacerbated the inequality, institutional violence, and the repression of social movements.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described these actions as «a sign of the democratic deterioration in the country that proclaims itself a defender of human rights.» In a recent statement, the Cuban government denounced the excessive use of force against protesters, many of them belonging to Afro-descendant and migrant communities, and criticized what it considers Washington’s double standards: while condemning other countries for human rights violations, it brutally represses its own population.

Furthermore, the Trump administration has intensified its diplomatic campaign to maintain the economic embargo against Cuba, alleging the alleged involvement of Cuban combatants in support of Russia.

The island rejects these accusations as part of a strategy to divert attention from its own domestic problems. From Cuba, it insists that the American people deserve to live in peace, with social justice, and without the militarization of their cities. It reaffirms its solidarity with the popular movements fighting for their rights within the United States.
