For Jesualdo Díaz, Carmela Páez: La Chocolata and Irahí Romero, coming to Cuba was a dream finally realized, but Juan Luis Clavijo has already been to Cuba on three occasions, two of them in Matanzas.
They are members of the group Búho y Maravillas, two merged companies from Andalusia, Spain, that make puppet theater. During the press conference, held at the Casa de la Memoria Escénica, they informed about the performances they are preparing for this weekend in the City of Rivers, Bridges and Poets and the expectations of how the public will receive the play they are bringing: The Happy Prince.
This play has flamenco dance, a World Heritage Site, as the main protagonist. It is the main thread of the story of a current world dominated by different crises, values to be rescued and powers associated with wealth and poverty.
According to Rubén Darío Salazar, host of the group and director of Teatro de las Estaciones, the performances will be held at the Pepe Camejo theater starting this Friday at the usual times.
The group received a collection of books on the history of theater in Cuba and Matanzas from the director of the Casa de la Memoria Escénica, Ulises Rodríguez Febles.
