Alcoholics Anonymous fellowship meeting in Matanzas.

One of the groups of the Alcoholics Anonymous community in the city of Matanzas meets on Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. at the Policlínico de Especialidades in the Versalles neighbourhood.

Its members advocate the fraternisation of the principles that govern the association, legalised in Cuba in June 2020 by the incorporation of new members interested in combating the scourge of alcoholism, a phenomenon that affects many families on the island and in the world.

The only requirement to join Alcoholics Anonymous is the desire to stop drinking. There are no fees or dues, as the organisation is not affiliated with any religious sect, political party or institution.

Its essential aim is to unite men and women who advocate to solve the common problem of drinking, the recovery of those affected, considering that alcoholism is an incurable and fatal disease, but that it can be stopped with individual will, according to its leaders.
