Starting this September, the three weekly flights of the Rossiya airline with the Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport will begin to take place, a frequency that will increase the flow of visitors from Russia.

As confirmed by the Telegram channel of the air terminal, the operation between the Moscow-Sheremetyevo aerodrome and Varadero will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from next 5th, once more than the two times that previously landed in Matanzas.

So far, the planes of the Rossiya company, a subsidiary of Aeroflot, have arrived with all seats sold, proof of the demand that the famous Blue Beach continues to have among the inhabitants of the Eurasian nation, Liuba Quintero Avila, head of the airport’s Operations Department, told Radio 26

Quintero said that another large number of Russian tourists arrive in Varadero with Nordwing Airlines, which in September will also have a large number of operations, which will reaffirm that market in the second position of emissions to the main Cuban resort, after the leader Canada.

Rossiya operates Boeing 777-300 aircraft on the Moscow-Varadero route with a capacity for 457 passengers, 436 of them in economy class and 21 in business class.

Apart from the two Russian airlines, the Juan Gualberto Gomez air platform was made up until August by the German Condor, the English Tui Airways Limited, the Dutch Tui Airlines Neerland, Orbest and World To Flay from Portugal, and the U.S. airlines World Atlantic and American Airlines.

More than 2,663 aircraft and 648,476 passengers were handled at the terminal in the previous year, with an average dwell time of 22 minutes, less than half the 45-minute standard established by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
