Debate on the economy focused by delegates of the People’s Power in Matanzas.
The VII Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power was held in Matanzas with the presence of delegates from each district, who discussed the plan for the economy and the activities carried out in the first quarter of 2023.
«We cannot devise a plan for 2024 if we still have defaults in 2023. It is inconceivable that some local development projects and MSMEs are not coming in. They have to account to that Popular Council where they are located on how much they contribute to the territorial contribution. It is not possible that these economic actors do not contribute to their community», said delegate Randy Perdomo García.
The role played by the delegates in the fight against illegalities and their duty to combat them in each neighborhood was also emphasized. The high rate of teenage pregnancies takes a different view. The numbers in the province are alarming.
In this sense, they insisted on the reinforcement of preventive work in homes and schools, which is a priority to know the causes and avoid, through prevention, that the figures continue to grow.
Daylin Bárbara Alfonso Mora, president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in Matanzas, expressed that continuing to make progress in the collection of income in the territory is a necessity, as well as «focusing on working from autonomy and perfecting popular participation constitute tasks of the first order.»
