Matanzas province officials ratify their commitment to the country’s economy

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, learned today about the performance of the Dairy Products Base Business Unit (UEB) of Cárdenas.

The President had a dialogue with the workers and was interested in the strategies to economically boost the industry, the links with new economic actors and the products they are focusing on to diversify.

Mayra Castell Rodríguez, director of UEB, explained that with the corporate purpose of producing dairy products and soybean derivatives, they currently have three plants: a cream cheese plant, an ice cream plant and a physical mix plant.

Through the productive chaining with the MSMEs Marrero Sabor and Súper Bola, we are able to make custard in the physical mix plant to contribute to social consumption,» he said. In the case of ice cream, we make 1,000 gallons daily, which are destined for the Coppelia of Matanzas and Cárdenas.

Accompanying the President on his tour are Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee; Susely Morfa González, first secretary of the PCC in the province of Matanzas; and other political and government authorities.

On the occasion, the President of the Republic met with the workers of the collectives and explained to them that the visit started yesterday and is aimed at the centers to plan actions to achieve improvements, transmit experiences and solve difficulties.

Finally, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba acknowledged the workers and the response of the collectives was to continue.

During the tour, the first secretary of the Party in the province, Susely Morfa González and the vice-governor Marieta Poey Zamora were present.

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, visited this Friday socioeconomic sites in the municipality of Cárdenas to know the results of the collectives and where things are not going well.

During the visit, the president arrived at the Oil Drilling and Extraction Company of the Center and exchanged with the workers of the Germán Hernández Dairy Products Business Unit, where he appreciated the productions and alternatives in the face of the lack of raw materials.
