FCBC management analyzed in Matanzas
A self-critical analysis prevailed during the balance of the Matanzas branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods. The company’s workers faced several complexities during 2023; however, they are working to remain at the forefront of promoting the work of creators, with a seal of authenticity, respect and dissemination of Cuban cultural values.
During his speech, Lázaro Muñoz Moré, deputy commercial director of the subsidiary in the territory, expressed his dissatisfaction with the results due to the non-fulfillment of the sales plan, due to problems in the supply of raw materials, a fundamental element that hinders artistic creation.
«There was a lack of foresight, doing things differently, working with more intentionality, systematicity and integrality and requiring specialists to manage more projects and services for clients, because at present it mostly falls on the creators.
«In 2024 we must further exploit the benefits of e-commerce, seek more sources of income from abroad, enhance the linkage with the non-state sector,» he meant.
Other negative factors mentioned were the emigration of creators, the complexities involved in the acquisition of the dollar, the strong and unfair competition with the New Economic Actors and the low occupancy levels in the tourism sector, among the main markets of the Fund.
However, it is worth mentioning the work of the entity in Matanzas in restoration and decoration works in the Eliseo Noel Caamaño and Faustino Pérez pediatric hospitals, warehouses, medical offices, the attention to the three homes for children without family protection in Matanzas, as well as to families in vulnerable situations, actions which, among others, have earned the institution the respect and recognition of the people, according to Ramón Gómez Medina, official of the Provincial Committee of the Party in the province.
Ignacio Antonio Agudín, deputy commercial director of the head office, explained that few UEBs fulfilled or overfulfilled the plan, because the income has to do with the budget deficit, but he congratulated those present because only Matanzas grew.
During the meeting, outstanding workers in their areas received recognition from their colleagues and Candelaria Llanez was awarded the 85th anniversary medal of the CTC for her meritorious work as a union leader.
