Metrology: challenges of climate change and food distribution.

Measurements that support the global food system is the main theme of this year’s World Metrology Day 2023, and this poses increasing challenges in terms of climate change and global food distribution.

The science of measurement has numerous industrial, commercial and societal applications, as we all depend on accurate and efficient operations in many areas such as the manufacture and marketing of products for human consumption.

Satellite navigation systems also depend on measurement, allowing aircraft to take off and land with almost no visibility, and in human health it plays a key role, where many parameters are measured for diagnostics.

Metrology is one of the tools that characterise the manufacturing industry today. Without metrology processes, it is not possible to achieve the necessary standards in industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, power generation and moulds, it is also present in sports, in the food we eat, in short, everywhere.
