She can be a hurricane in full swing. Her inexhaustible energy and strict professionalism have led her to be part of beautiful projects that demand from her time, dedication and devotion.

But, for Sonia María Cobos Blanco, a graduate of the Escuela de Instructores de Arte, these are not too many complications because the passion with which she assumes them is greater than any challenge.

«My beginnings as an actress come from childhood. I always liked everything that had to do with singing, dancing, I went through all the workshops offered by institutions and artists. Except for visual arts, all the manifestations were in me since I was very young.

«If I had to mark a moment from the professional point of view, it is impossible for me to talk about my beginnings without thanking again the Asociación Hermanos Saíz because, since the founding of Teatro El Portazo, I never left the city of Matanzas and I began to take my career more seriously and to prepare myself.

«I was lucky enough to collaborate with El Mirón Cubano at some points, I was very close to Teatro Papalote with Rene Fernández, I spent almost a year at Teatro Icarón and I am very grateful for that time of growth because dramatic theater is a genre that I am very fond of and in which I feel very comfortable.

«Currently I work at Teatro de Las Estaciones, which is my house, my home. I’ve been able to do radio, I’ve had experiences in television.»

Within acting he has explored more than one type of expression, ways to connect with the public. «I’ve been working for about seven years in Radio 26’s Conjunto Dramático, where we do novelas, theatricals, historicals and with I Want Teatro, under the direction of María Laura Germán.

«This independent project was gestated more than a year ago and we have been navigating in this wonderful experience of theater at home for teen and young audiences, another very big challenge and in which I still feel like in the beginning of my career because being an actress is never completely achieved when you give yourself because each experience, play or project is what is shaping you.»

Standing on stage to play a character is one of her greatest passions, but since she first encountered promotion and production, she has not been able to say no to its attractions.

«I also work in El Garabato, which is a family project that I have taken on very seriously along with Adrián Socorro, my husband, attending to the public, managing promotional activities.

«Promotion, which has a lot to do with communication, since I have a degree in Social Communication, has always been a passion for me. It was something I had put aside because I focused for a long time on my acting career and life took care of putting it back on my path.

«I have had many opportunities to exploit all these concerns and help other artists in the organization of activities, provide my services for the promotion and production and that is also what I am currently doing, developing a kind of support to institutions, artists who have trusted me».

Sonia, who has worked as a teacher on several occasions, dedicates her professional skills between Teatro de Las Estaciones, I Want Teatro, the Conjunto Dramático de Radio 26 and various initiatives linked to production.

«My interests and expectations have always been very marked by not stopping working. I could talk about dreams, goals, about millions of projects that one always draws but my fundamental interest as an actress, as a promoter and producer can be summarized in my desire to work, to always have something that when I wake up in the morning I know that what I have to do will generate a good in others».

Between acting, promotion and production, her incursions as a photography model, Teatro de Las Estaciones, I Want Teatro, Radio 26, El Garabato and El chismecito, there is always the personalized gale that is Sonia María Cobos Blanco who, when it comes to self-improvement and growth, has never remained static.
