Unión de Reyes: Third Place in Blood Donations.
Pedro Betancourt municipality maintains its blood donation program active with the goal of ensuring the availability of this vital resource in health centers. The municipality currently ranks third in the province with 78.3 percent compliance with the plan, thanks to the joint efforts of medical personnel and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.
The Director General of Health in the Unión province, Reidel Soto Carrera, emphasized that the goal is not only to meet these goals, but also to save lives. «So far this month, we have received 54 blood donations, and with this figure, we remain above the percentage projected for this date. This is a priority program for us, and fortunately, we have the necessary multifactorial support to keep it at this high level,» explained the director.
The municipal event commemorating Blood Donor Day will be held on June 17 in the rural community of Oliva, a region with significant work in the blood donation movement. This event will recognize the most committed volunteers, highlighting their valuable contributions to local public health.
