With the purpose of directing actions to improve and strengthen the functioning of the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC) in Jovellanos municipality, the federates met to hold their 11th Assembl. Congress of the FMC.
The meeting was attended by the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in Matanzas, Susely Morfa González, the provincial secretary of the women’s organization, Odalys García Pérez, as well as the main authorities in the territory.
Inspired by the example of the eternal Vilma Espín, heroine of the highlands and the plains, and prior to the plenary section, the work in commissions allowed a comprehensive evaluation of the functioning of the federation itself from the analysis of issues related to prevention, social care and the role of families in the defense of values.
Likewise, the confrontation of crime and gender violence was analyzed, as well as the promotion of health and the role of the Women’s and Family Guidance Centers.
During the conclave, the voices of the women from Jovellan were not lacking in the rejection of the criminal actions organized by the Israeli State, aimed at the total occupation of the Palestinian territory, its colonization and the extermination of its noble people, in serious violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Humanitarian Law.
The delegates from Jovellan to this territorial event debated with a critical approach on the main difficulties presented by the municipality, which allowed to project concrete actions to achieve superior results in the work.
