Lubrication system for turbine at CTE Guiteras being evaluated.

Specialized technicians are inspecting the causes of the temperature increase in the turbine lubrication system at the Antonio Guiteras thermal power plant in Matanzas.

According to reports, so far they do not suspect that it is a difficulty inside the turbine, so that within four days, the difficulty that prevented its synchronization on Wednesday night will be solved.

This stop contemplated in the start-up period is being used to calibrate and adjust other systems that began with the ignition of the boiler and running-in of the turbine to its working regime.

The prevailing opinion so far is that the entire turbine lubrication system should be evaluated as a whole, which does not only involve the well-known bearings.

What is certain is that the specialists consider the problem to be the result of a prolonged shutdown, during which it was also possible to work on the boiler’s exchange walls, the essential element that has led to several outings during the last few months.
