Physical Culture Day is celebrated in Bolondrón (+photos and audio)

Juan de Mata Reyes stadium of the Bolondrón Popular Council in Pedro Betancourt municipality «wore» its best clothes to celebrate a massive event in honor of Physical Culture and Sports Day.

Through traditional games, cultural and recreational shows, sanabandas, dance therapies and other proposals, the children of the children’s circle Casa de los Niños, the Félix Varela school and the elderly, as well as members of the program Educa a tu Hijo and the Combinado Deportivo showed the work of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) in the village.

In the company of other authorities, directors, cadres, officials and representatives of local political and governmental organizations, Louserelis Valle Mestre, member of the Political-Ideological Bureau of the Party in the territory, highlighted the quality of the activity and recognized the achievements in the joint work with the Municipal Sports Directorate to guarantee the physical well-being, health and recreation of the different age groups of the municipality.

The Day of Physical Culture and Recreation is celebrated in Cuba every November 19th as a tribute to the closing of the first plenary session of the Congress of Volunteer Councils of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation held on the same date in 1961, where Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz pondered the potential and achievements of revolutionary sports and its main exponents.
