Matanzas Celebrates World Premature Child Day.
Since 2011, every November 17th is celebrated the World Premature Child Day, a date that highlights the high mortality risk posed by the arrival of children into the world before 37 weeks, without completing their development in the mother’s womb.
In the province of Matanzas, this condition of the newborn is one of the aspects that most affects the Maternal and Infant Care Program, as explained by Matanzas pediatrician José Hernández Hernández.
