The ninth edition of the International Workshop on Humanities in Education Humanísticas 2023, held from June 20th to 22nd, came to an end. The event, held at the University of Matanzas, attracted professionals and researchers from several Cuban and foreign universities, with a predominance of Mexican visitors.
Participants presented their work grouped in thematic commissions chaired by experts. Among the main topics of the talks were those related to the challenges of teaching history, art, languages and literature in the current context.
The participation of students, not only as audience, but also as speakers, stood out in the event. In this regard, Dr. Bárbara Fierro Chong, coordinator of the event, explained: «Students occupy an important place in this workshop. There are more than 20 papers written by students: either on their own or with their tutors.
During the last day, the jurors awarded the best researches of the workshop, which will appear in various publications, such as the Revista Boletín Redipe, of the Red Iberoamericana de Pedagogía, or the commemorative book of the event, commissioned to the publishing house of the University of Matanzas.
