Assembly of People’s Power meets in Pedro Betancourt.
With the aim of improving its work at the service of the community, the Assembly of People’s Power of Pedro Betancourt municipality held the X Ordinary Session of its XVIII term of office.
Delegates, officials, directors and representatives of political and mass organizations gathered together with the highest authorities of the territory to analyze the fulfillment of the agreements approved in the previous session and other aspects related to the economic and social life of the locality.
Yonel Estrada Ramírez, president of the Assembly, emphasized the need to encourage integrated community work in order to guarantee timely compliance, adequate attention, follow-up and solution to the complaints, requests and petitions of the population.
During the meeting, the problems to be eradicated stood out, such as the poor state of the streets and highways, the lack of systematization in the collection and final disposal of solid waste, the insufficient production, variety and commercialization of food and the high prices of products, goods and services, as well as the deficiencies in the restoration of the hydraulic networks in the Popular Councils Pedroso-Socorro-Camilo and Bolondrón.
Likewise, the vice-president of the Assembly, Mardiel Surí González, stressed the importance of continuing to make progress in the correct implementation of the population dynamics policy, e-commerce, the urban and suburban agriculture program, local development projects, the approval of proposals for new neighborhoods in transformation, social communication work and the status of compliance with the Life Task, among other issues.
