Cárdenas commemorates the 70th anniversary of Moncada.
On the premises of the monument to the Cuban flag, on the coast of Cardenas, took place this July 22nd the municipal ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons in the eastern part of the country.
From very early in the morning, workers and people in general gathered to honor with today’s achievements the heroes and martyrs who in that battle did not let die the ideas of José Martí, in the year of his centenary.
Presided over by the political and governmental authorities of the territory, members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution were recognized for their dedication.
Recognition was also given to entities and organizations that stood out for their results in the municipality.
Zaid Díaz Méndez, first secretary of the party in Cárdenas, was in charge of the central words of the event and invited everyone to continue working towards the economic and social development of the municipality in order to reach the bicentennial with a modern and rejuvenated city, a tourist city.
