As part of his usual tour of the nation’s municipalities, the first secretary of the Party and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez exchanged with the residents of Pedro Betancourt.
The President spoke with the delegate of District 3 and the mayor of the territory about the socioeconomic activity in the territory.
While sharing with the residents of District 3, he said that these tours are part of the national program of monthly evaluation of the municipalities, in order to learn from positive experiences and efficient management models to promote the successful transformation of less favorable situations.

He noted the potential and contributions of the TecnoFrío MSME to local economic development and its attention to vulnerable families and assisted centers in the municipality.
An example of this was the Los 60 dairy farm, where he noted the high productivity of its collective and urged the implementation of practical alternatives for efficiency and transparency in the rational use of the country’s resources and, especially, in the recovery of those areas affected by recent weather events.

Díaz-Canel urged the people of Pedro Betancourt to maintain their confidence.
Similarly, he visited the TecnoFrío micro and small business, where in exchange with its collective he was interested in the challenges and opportunities of the entity in terms of repair and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, as well as the education and training of its workers.
He also highlighted TecnoFrío’s attention to people in vulnerable situations, mothers with more than three children, and donations to nursing homes, hospitals, schools and other local organizations and institutions.
It also discussed the need to establish strategic alliances with other organizations to improve productivity and quality of services, local productive linkages and the use of new technologies to optimize their business processes, including the use of QR codes and tax accounts.
The President expressed his gratitude to the Tecnofrío collective for their commitment and dedication to building a stronger and more efficient economy on the Island, and reiterated the importance of continuing to promote the development of MSMEs such as this one, which generate jobs and provide innovative solutions to local and national needs.
