Dr. Torres Cuevas to visit Matanzas
Next Tuesday, July 18th, the director of the Office of the Martí Program and president of the José Martí Cultural Society in Cuba, Doctor Eduardo Torres Cuevas, accompanied by a committee of the board of directors of the organization at that level, will hold a meeting with his counterparts in the province of Matanzas.
The visit includes a tour of Marti’s clubs in the city, the MICONS Provincial Training School, the Social House of the organization and the Matanzas´s branch of the Union of Historians of Cuba, as well as the Hermitage of Monserrate, the main venue of the actions to be carried out during the day.
Such actions seek to continue promoting the interest in Cuban society for the study and practical application of the precepts of the life and work of the National Hero, in addition to contributing to the strengthening of the national identity with cultural activities related to the man of the Golden Age, as reported to the press by the president of the José Martí Cultural Society in Matanzas, Alfredo Lauzurica González.
