Victoria de Girón Popular Camp Site to Restart Operations.
The day has already been decided. It will be in a Summer with love and on July 15th, the date of the restart of the operations of the Victoria de Girón popular camping site, after more than two years of inactivity due to an investment process that raised the standards of 18 of its 29 rooms, Jorge Sagarra Almenares, director of the Ciénaga de Zapata Integral Tourist Company, told Radio 26 in an exclusive interview.
The director of the facility, which belongs to the Cubanacán business group, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the works, which in the next few hours will make a highly comfortable product available to those who choose the Victoria de Girón as a vacation spot.
To make reservations, those interested can go to the Ecotur travel agency, call the base itself or access through the tourist facilities of the Zapata Swamp itself. Also, in the Facebook profile of the Empresa Turística Integral’s commercial office, the number 59868610 has been published, which will expedite the possibility of making reservations.
Located within the Ciénaga de Zapata Speleo-Lacustrine System Protected Area, the Victoria de Girón has always received clients from the municipalities of the province and from several parts of the country, mainly from Artemisa, Mayabeque, Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos.
Before its closure due to the crisis generated by Covid-19, its comprehensive results earned it the category of National Vanguard, proof of the quality of its services and the professionalism of its personnel, a condition that we are sure it will reach again, considered Sagarra Almenares.
Excursions to sites of historical interest and emblematic places of the municipality of Cienguero, recreational activities within the base itself, as well as a wide range of gastronomic offers, earned the Victoria de Girón its fame.
Inaugurated in the early 80’s, the facility had received a thorough renovation in 2004-2005, which left it with 29 cabins with indoor bathrooms and capacity for 134 campers, including restaurant services, cafeteria, kitchen, kiosk, a dance floor, games room, workers’ shelter and infirmary.
Semi-open and bordered by low living cliffs, La Gallina beach is the main area of the surroundings, characterized by its fine sands and said to be easily accessible and safe for children due to its shallow depth.
By designation of the Ministry of Tourism, in January 2014 it ceased to belong to the Camping Company to operate under the aegis of the Cubanacán business group.
