Spaces in the city of Matanzas will serve as sub-host of the International Conference Cuba 2024-Decade of Afro-descendants: Equality-Equity-Social Justice, an event to be held between December 9th and 13th.
This conference, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the National Program against Racism and Racial Discrimination of the Republic of Cuba, is financially supported by the United Nations Population Fund and will include among its activities visits to cultural and educational institutions and communities.
In its reflection and analysis sessions, by means of panels and special interventions, as well as artistic presentations, it is intended to make visible Cuba’s commitment and work in the fight against racism and discrimination based on skin color and ethnic origin.
Likewise, among its objectives is the exchange of experiences among representatives from different countries on the confrontation and prevention of racism and discrimination based on skin color and ethnic origin, as well as promoting debate on issues of inclusion, integration, equality, equity and respect for identities.
