Political-cultural gala for Moncada in Pedro Betancourt (+audio and photos),

As part of the celebrations for the National Rebellion Day, the movement of amateur artists of Pedro Betancourt municipality staged an emotional political-cultural gala allegorical to the date.

The activity is part of a series of cultural events to commemorate the historic day, which included the acclaimed concert of Noro and Primera Clase, the inauguration of the «Néstor Ulloa» cultural center in Bolondrón and performances by the musical groups Tradi-Son, Oggun Alaguardé and the soloist Obel Alonso, among many others.

Enlivened by the verses of the members of the Municipal Workshop of Repentismo and dissimilar musical and dance interpretations that showed the best of the trova and the Afro-Cuban traditions of our Island, those present paid homage to the fallen in the glorious deed of the Moncada. This was communicated to our radio station by Rosa María González Díaz, director of the «María Villar Buceta» Municipal House of Culture.

González Díaz also recognized the quality of the gala and the acceptance of the people of Pedro Betancourt to this cultural ode to the 70th anniversary of the July 26th epic and, in particular, to Félix Rivero Vasallo, a martyr from Bolondón who fell in the Moncadista struggle of 1953.

Likewise, the Municipal Directorate of Culture, honored for its cultural activities during the provincial ceremony for the 70th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes garrisons, will continue to delight the people of Pedro Betancourt with other recreational activities during the current summer season.
