The president of the Cuban Parliament listened attentively to the concerns of the group and praised their commitment to the people.

As part of his visit to the province of Matanzas, the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández, toured the Faustino Pérez Hernández Clinical and Surgical Teaching Hospital this Wednesday, where he spoke with staff, doctors, and managers.

At the main hospital, Lazo met with medical professionals, nursing staff, and workers from various departments, whom he recognized for their daily efforts, especially in a complex context marked by material limitations and high demand for care.

During the meeting, topics related to patient care, the state of resources, and working conditions were discussed. The President of the Cuban Parliament listened attentively to the concerns of the group and praised their commitment to the people.

He also visited the local development project Kafé Xpress, an initiative that has gained prestige for the service it offers to workers, patients, and companions.

This project, part of the network of socially impactful ventures in Matanzas, reinvests its profits in improvements to the center itself and in collective benefit initiatives.

Its director, Leonel Lemus, explained how vulnerable patients are treated daily and the complexities of maintaining food service in the current context.

In addition, they toured the recently opened medical residency, a modern facility designed to offer dignified rest and optimal conditions to doctors.

There, he spoke with professionals and shared information about the efforts the government is making to prioritize the well-being of healthcare workers, considered one of the backbones of Cuban society.

The event was part of a broader exchange program with key sectors in the province, with the aim of seeing firsthand the state of services, local initiatives, and the public’s sentiment.
