Wasps sting again.
On the afternoon of Monday May 29th another day of the 62nd National Baseball Series was played and in the Guillermón Moncada in Santiago de Cuba, Matanzas suffered its second consecutive defeat against the locals.
The Crocodiles came with a positive streak winning two consecutive sub-series, but they already lost the second against Santiago, this time 4×6 and it seems very difficult that they can win the remaining three because everything points to the sub-series leaning to the side of the Wasps.
The Oriente Cubans displayed a powerful 10-hit offensive with three doubles and a triple included. Although Matanzas hit 12 hits the key was the same as yesterday’s game, the Wasps stung with opportunity while Matanzas left several Cocodrilos on base.
The win went to Wilber Reina Lanchazo who is now five and four while Yoandri Montero Luna saved his third of the campaign. The loss went to veteran Noervis Entenza, now with a negative record of three and four.
It was already known that this was a very important sub-series for the two teams as they were direct rivals for second and third place and above all, fighting Mayabeque for the top spot, and Santiago is the one that is coming out on top, after this day they moved up to first place while Mayabeque dropped to second, a game and a half behind the leader, Artemisa and Matanzas were positioned 3rd and 4th respectively, both two games behind the top.
