Wheat ship arrives to guarantee bread production.
A wheat shipment arrived this Sunday at the port of Havana in order to guarantee the flour required for the production of bread for the standard family basket.
Zaily Pérez, commercial director of Empresa Cubana Molinera, explained to Noticiero del Mediodía that the arrival of this shipment is expected to stabilize production as of Tuesday, June 6, after the conditioning required by the product and the subsequent distribution of flour to the companies.
Osmany Rodríguez, logistics director of OSDE Alimentaria, explained that between April and May, three wheat ships were to arrive in the country, but even though the financing, the loading window and the suppliers were available, it became impossible due to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
He pointed out that in the next few days another ship will arrive, after a wait of about 75 days due to the obstacles imposed by this unilateral policy to make payments.
