Afro-Cuban traditions are extolled in Pedro Betancourt.

At Gustavo González Pérez Museum in the municipality of Pedro Betancourt was shown the special exhibition La Ruta de los Fundamentos , dedicated to the folkloric and historical-cultural richness of the territory.

In a tour of the different exhibits of the installation, the outstanding American musician, composer and researcher, Ned Sublette and the musicologist and representative of the group Muñequitos de Matanzas, Cary Diez and other guests, witnessed the cultural and traditional vestiges preserved in the institution. This was specified to our radio station by José de Jesús Campos Pacheco, also a researcher from Betancourt.

The tour also included the Cabildo Sagrada Laguna de San Joaquín de Ibáñez, in the Rigores area, whose heritage value extols the vast influence of the African component of our ancestors, as well as the need to preserve their legacy for present and future generations. In this regard, Campos Pacheco said:

The special exhibition La Ruta de los Fundamentos (The Route of the Fundamentals) became an initiative of the municipal museum to once again highlight our Afro-Cuban traditions and, above all, to glorify the best of our cultural heritage.
