In Cuba begins today municipal conferences 22nd CTC Congress.
The process will begin on May 16th in Calimete in Matanzas, where 13 of the 168 municipal conferences will be held in the Greater of the Antilles.

This May 8th, the capital’s Cotorro territory starts the process of municipal conferences of the 22nd Congress of the Cuba Trade Union (CTC), a transcendental step in the chronogram of the great event, with final sessions planned for the first quarter of 2025.
The event will take stock of what has happened in the last five years and how the influence of the organic operation can boost the production of goods and the provision of services in an enclave that houses such a strategic industry as the so-called Antillana de Acero.
The conferences will take place in a very complex social and economic context, determined to a great extent by the intensification of the genocidal U.S. blockade against the Cuban people, trade union leaders have agreed.
This situation has limited the securing of material and energy resources, affecting the low availability of products and services, contributing to a decrease in supply and consequently an increase in inflation which is manifested in the insufficient purchasing power of salaries.
In these Congresses, members of the Municipal Committee of the CTC and its Secretariat will be ratified or elected, as well as the delegates to the 15 provincial conferences, in the case of Matanzas, scheduled for next September.
The launching of the call for the 22nd Congress of the CTC took place last January the 28th in Santiago de Cuba, during the ceremony for the 85th anniversary of the founding of this organization, which was founded in 1939.
«An exercise of reflection and deep, critical and propositive debate must be generated in the work centers, which legitimizes the participation of the affiliates in the construction of consensus», expressed the member of the Political Bureau of the Party Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, general secretary of the Cuba Trade Union, when reading the call.
