A Tribute to Antonio Guiteras .
On May 8th, 1935, Antonio Guiteras Holmes and Venezuelan Carlos Aponte Hernandez were assassinated in the fortress El Morrillo, by the troops of the Caffery-Batista-Mendiet government, who arrived there as a result of a betrayal.

In remembrance of the date, party leaders, students of the Camilo Cienfuegos Military School and other governmental organizations paid homage to him at the lookout point near the fortress, today a museum and cultural heritage.
Yosiel Oliver Ortega, first provincial secretary of the UJC, stressed the commitment of young people to Cuban history and the importance of the date.
To culminate, a wreath was placed in front of the busts that pay homage to Guiteras and Aponte in El Morrillo.
