International Puppetry Festitaller of Matanzas will host an exhibition by Czech director.
As part of the 15th edition of the Matanzas International Puppetry Festitaller, the Casa de la Memoria Escénica will host next May the 90 years of Jan Svankmajer poster exhibition on the work of the Czech filmmaker, born in Prague in September 1934, who celebrates nine decades of existence this year.
The exhibition is supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cuba and will include a master lecture on his work for the cinema by audiovisual directors Ivette Avila and Ramiro Zardoya.

Considered a multifaceted creator, he has also worked in film directing, sculpture, photography, writing, painting, poetry, puppet design, graphic design, ceramics, drawing and scenography.
The poster exhibition dedicated to Jan Svankmajer’s work will take place at La vitrina gallery, while the lecture will be at the Sala Abelardo Estorino during the Matanzas International Puppetry Festitaller.
