Matanzas celebrates Jornada Villanueva with a National Theater Award.

On January 23rd, the National Theater Award 2025, unanimously granted to actress, professor, promoter, researcher and artistic director Miriam Muñoz Benítez from Matanzas, will be presented.
From January 15th to 29th, the Villanueva Day is being held in Cuba, dedicated to the centenary of Abelardo Estorino and the 156th anniversary of the events of Villanueva.
Cuban theater is also being celebrated in the province of Matanzas, this year under the slogan I believe in what is alive and changing.
The city of Matanzas and the municipality of Unión de Reyes will be able to enjoy numerous performances by Teatro de Sur with Noche Sucia; Papalote with Historia de Burros; Estaciones with Patico Feo and El Mirón Cubano, in addition to the national group Teatro de Dos.
On January 23rd, as part of the activities, the National Theater Award 2025 will be presented to actress, teacher, promoter, researcher and artistic director Miriam Muñoz Benítez from Matanzas.
On January 24th and until January 26th, the colloquium Cien Estorinos, Cien Ferrer (One Hundred Estorinos, One Hundred Ferrer), organized by the Provincial Council for the Performing Arts, the Casa de la Memoria Escénica and the José Martí National Library, will be held with the participation of prominent figures of the stage such as Ulises Rodríguez Febles and Rubén Darío Salazar.
