National event for BTJ anniversary to be held in Cardenas.
On December 6th, 1964, the Technical Youth Brigades (BTJ), a scientific movement subordinated to the Young Communist League (Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas), was constituted.
From that moment on, the movement was at the forefront of tasks and actions undertaken by Cuban youth under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The BTJs are made up voluntarily of students and workers between the ages of 17 and 35, belonging to all sectors of Cuban society. The mission of the Brigades is to contribute to the improvement, integral formation and incorporation of children and young people to the main battles fought in the political, scientific, cultural and social order of the country.
Lisbeth Quesada Reyna, provincial president of the BTJ, in conversation with Radio 26, informed that the Cárdenas municipality will be the venue for the national event in honor of the 59th anniversary of the Technical Youth Brigades (BTJ), for which a day of activities will be held from December 1st to December 6th.
The activities will begin in Varadero on December 2 with an environmental sanitation, followed by an animal welfare fair, scheduled for December 3. On the 5th, an exhibition of the BTJ and the FEEM will be held at the José Antonio Echeverría Park. On the 6th, the members of both organizations will celebrate their anniversaries during a gala at the Cardenas movie theater.
