People in Pedro Betancourt celebrate 201st anniversary of Brazil’s Independence (+audio)

With the aim of extolling the history, culture and tradition of Brazil, the Gustavo Gonzalez Perez bookstore of pedro Betancourt municipality developed a tribute panel for the 201st anniversary of the independence of the South American giant.

Through various exhibitions and literary and musical presentations, the event addressed aspects of the nation such as its economy, architecture, language, politics and culture, among others. Demetrio Elizalde Sotomayor, retired from the ICRT, told our radio station.

For his part, José de Jesús Campos Pacheco, researcher of Local History at the Municipal Museum, highlighted the main attractions of Brazilian children’s literature, with special emphasis on the life and work of the prestigious writer Monteiro Lobato.

Likewise, Alba Lina Hernández Sotomayor, 6th grade teacher at the Augusto César Sandino Elementary School shared her experience and that of her students regarding the activity.
