Project Toma Deportiva Siempre Joven continues in Pedro Betancourt.

This activity, in addition to promoting sports practice and the development of physical skills, contributes to occupying young people’s free time in a constructive, participatory and inclusive manner.
The triangular indoor soccer match between athletes from the basic secondary, pre-university and technical-professional (ETP) schools, held at the Jaime López Secada Sports Volunteer Council in Pedro Betancourt municipality, was dedicated to the rescue of the practice of physical and recreational activities in the neighborhoods and communities.
The initiative, which integrates the proposals of the «Toma Deportiva Siempre Joven» project, was headed by the Directorate of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of the territory and counted with the participation of students belonging to the Dionisio Morejón Pre-University Institute and the 28 de Octubre and Leonor Pérez basic and polytechnic secondary schools, respectively.
Osvaldo Hernández Suárez, municipal methodologist of Physical Education, stressed the importance of this activity which, in addition to promoting the practice of sports and the development of physical skills, contributes to occupying the free time of young people in a constructive, participatory and inclusive manner.
For her part, Anielys Josefa Soler Zamora, municipal methodologist of High Performance, pointed out the potential of these activities that contribute to the search and recruitment of talents to integrate the provincial and national teams of the different sports disciplines.
With a national scope, the «Toma deportiva Siempre Joven» project becomes a scenario to promote healthy recreation for all age groups, through the implementation of recreational and leisure activities and the participation and integration of the community for a healthier and more active life.
