Teatro de Las Estaciones: Thirty years of puppets with heads (+ photos, video, spot and audio)

The afternoon was different at the Pepe Camejo Hall. With a diversity that is typical of the group in terms of formats, poetics and discursive styles, the activities for the 30th anniversary of Teatro de Las Estaciones began.

The presentation of the spot dedicated to this celebration opened the afternoon session. The audiovisual, created by the young directors Yemelín Cruz and Adanoe Lima, shows in 26 seconds the variety that has characterized the performances of the group from Matanzas, with a beauty that matches the beauty of the stage group.

María Laura Germán Aguiar,actress, playwright and theater director, shared that «among the concepts that I have learned best during the last 15 years in the group are to unite, to associate, to welcome, to admire and to thank.

«Joining forces and talents has been a fundamental strategy since Estaciones’ founding shows.

With a mix of actors, dancers, circus artists, playwrights, choreographers, it has evolved and enriched to the point of invading areas such as graphic design, audiovisual and even lyrical singing.

«Where there is a Moon, a Sun, a star, do we not associate it with Teatro de Las Estaciones? Where there is a song to childhood, from the cleanest and purest values, is there not the spirit of Ruben and Zenen? Where the work is so meticulous, careful and delicate, do we not think of that work that the princes of the Sun and the Moon have defended for so many years?

«When you welcome it is because you admire something. It is not always necessary to admire gigantic things. Admiration can begin with a small flame that grows until it warms the whole soul. This is the case of Adanoe and Yemelín because once you know some of their works, you can’t stop admiring them.

The plurality in terms of ways of expressing themselves, in this case plastically, becomes the main attraction of the exhibition in which other names such as Dian Barceló, Pilar Fernández, Johan Trujillo, Ángel Román, Estrellita Caracol, Abdel de la Campa, Iris Fundora, Julio Montesinos, Vivian Abuin and Frank David Valdés appear.

It was followed by a tasting at the Jardín de Pelusín of 30 Estaciones, a cocktail party created for the celebration, which will culminate on August 12th and which, until then, will offer premieres, concerts, book presentations, publications and audiovisuals.
