The first day of competitions of the National Festival of Amateur Artists of the Federation of University Students (FEU) began last Monday in the city of Matanzas.
The University of Matanzas received approximately 800 participants from all over the country, from Pinar del Río to Santiago de Cuba, who will develop several competitive and recreational activities during the course of the week.
The opening day featured a parade where delegations from each province cheered up Milanés Street from René Fraga Park to Libertad Park.
To break the cellophane at 2:00 pm, the theater competition took place at the iconic Icarón venue, then in the evening, music, dance and speeches came together at the Sauto Theater, with the performance of the Buena Fe duo as the show’s finale.
Presentations continue today at the Icarón and Sauto theaters, as well as recreational activities at the University of Matanzas, while rehearsals are being held at several cultural venues in the city prior to the presentations that will take place during the week.
