Summer Workshop in Matanzas Embraces Art History

The House of Art in Matanzas reinforced the need for new generations to learn about art history in the usual visual arts workshop recently concluded.

Dedicated to the children and young people of the province, this space fostered an approach to the most important references and works of this manifestation.

«The element that most identifies our institution is the work with the little ones since the promulgation of art as a means of expression,» explained Anabel del Río, director of the project.

The classes taught by the visual artist make it possible for children to explore their creativity and even appropriate known works with a reinterpretation from their own gaze.

According to the teacher, this constitutes one of the main missions pursued with this project, which is promoted through the so-called «appreciation exercises.»

Upon completing the planned modules, the young participants, together with their instructor, held an exhibition that gathered some of the sketches assigned throughout the day.

This summer display, inaugurated at the Estrella y Arena clothing and footwear store, was a selection of the most outstanding canvas creations of the young enthusiasts during the season.
