«We addressed an innovative topic: agrotourism, seen from the university and from science. This in collaboration with Ecotur. It is a bit like sharing the experiences of the Mayabeque peasantry and our own, of how a peasant can venture into agrotourism issues.

«I think it gives much added value to the work of those who work in the fields and who need at some time of the year to receive people, who know their work, the work in the field and can take a souvenir.»

The Agrarian University of Havana is consolidated as an essential scientific pole for its contribution to research and contributions to food production in Cuban fields.

«We bring a small sample of the contributions that the Agrarian University of Havana can make to the peasantry and agricultural producers in Cuba. They are a group of alternatives, especially for livestock feeding and giving added value to farms and productive spaces.»

The Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez Agrarian University of Havana is located in the municipality of San José de las Lajas, in the province of Mayabeque. The center was originally dedicated only to Agricultural Sciences, but nowadays it extends its work to Social, Humanistic, Economic, Physical Culture and Pedagogical Sciences. Its main impact is concentrated in Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Engineering.
