Speaking about the event, Luis Paz, president of the Organizing Committee stated:
«The purpose of the Congress is to create a space for exchange and reflection among scholars, researchers, carriers, practitioners, musicians and improvisers, where they study and propose actions to assume the current challenges of the tradition.
«As lines of research we have the presence of women, the transmission of the tradition to new generations and the place of the tenth in the cultural and material heritage of Ibero-America.»
The first edition of the Congress was held in 2022 and this year resumes its second installment with the participation of Cuba, Spain and Puerto Rico, dedicated to the centenary of Adolfo Alfonso and the 20th anniversary of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention.
