The residents of the batey Cuba Libre, which belongs to the 20th district of Pedro Bwetancourt municipality, have undergone many renovation, sanitation and revitalization works. Thanks to its previous designation as a neighborhood in transformation, these tasks have had a positive impact on the daily life of the residents and have brought back the color to this well known neighborhood which in the past was home to one of the largest sugar production centers in the national territory.

Marbelis Abreu Niebla, delegate of district 20, thanked the collaboration of the institutions and organizations involved in the revival of the neighborhood in question.

One of the most visited enclaves by the Betancoureña population is the Cuba Libre organoponic garden, which belongs to the 20th district and the neighborhood in transformation of this town of Matanzas and which, as part of the program of urban, suburban and family agriculture, provides vegetables and greens to the people and contributes with its actions to enhance food sovereignty and municipal self-sufficiency.
Among the facilities in the neighborhood in transformation previously inaugurated is the winery La Libertad.
With a total of 56 beds and crops, it has a wide demand and acceptance, given the quality of its productions, which, according to one of its agricultural workers, Julian Crespo Chamizo, has to be encouraged during this 2025.
