Top authorities of Matanzas visit vital centers.

Mario Sabines and Marieta Poey made a tour of vital areas of the capital territory on Tuesday, in order to know how the recovery of electricity, water and other fundamental services is progressing.

Mario Sabines and Marieta Poey, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and governor, respectively, of Matanzas, toured this Tuesday vital areas of the capital territory, with the purpose of knowing how the recovery of electricity, water and other fundamental services is progressing.

One of the sites visited was the municipal aqueduct, where they received detailed information from Guillermo Cué Lugo, director of the Empresa provincial de Acueductos y Alcantarillados, who referred to the current state of water distribution, both for the city of Matanzas and for the rest of the province.

The executive informed that in Atenas de Cuba the water supply is stabilizing, although there are still areas that do not receive water through the distribution networks and it is necessary to supply it with tanker trucks.

The leader pointed out that there are very complex areas, such as the upper part of Matanzas and Versalles, which require the system to gain pressure. He also explained that electricity had not reached the pumps in Ceiba Mocha and El Valle, communities in which the use of tankers is required.

He provided information on each municipality and explained that in those where electricity has not reached the pumping equipment, generators are used and water is also distributed by pipeline.

Guillermo Cué pointed out that they are working tirelessly to reestablish service in the shortest possible time.
