Education sector management in Matanzas is valued (+photos and audio).

Evaluating the fulfillment of its main objectives and indicators in the year that ended and the priorities for the current period was the essential purpose of the work balance of the educational sector in Matanzas, an event in which a critical analysis was made of the difficulties that persist in the province regarding the admission and retention of students in the pedagogical training centers, professional improvement and the stability of the teaching staff.

With sharp and timely interventions of managers, officials and methodologists, it was demonstrated the urgency of transforming the current scenario, affected by the decrease of active teaching professionals, an aspect reflected in the statistics of the report, among them the need of more than 1,200 teachers in the classrooms, covered today with alternatives and the 88 percent reached in the completion of the teaching force, a figure lower than the one planned for this school year.

The program of attention to the teacher, food sovereignty, the policy of cadres and the preparation of reserves, the priority of preventive and political and ideological work in student institutions in the current circumstances, were, among others, the main aspects discussed.

In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry and the country’s leadership to guarantee quality and efficiency in the integral formation of the new generations, the representatives of the Provincial Education Directorate (DPE) ratified the commitment to redesign the strategic projects at each educational level and to expand the concrete and intentional actions to revert the aforementioned problems.

In statements made to Radio 26, the vice-head of the Ministry of Education, Dania López Gulbone, valued as opportune and objective the work exchange, where a group of professionals and workers were also recognized for their dedication and trajectory in the teaching profession.
