Emisora provincial de Matanzas, Cuba, La Radio de tu Corazón

Commemorated the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution in Matanzas.

The people of Matanzas commemorated the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution with a political-cultural gala held at the Sauto Theater, a National Monument.

The event began with a performance of the poem «Canto a Fidel» (Song to Fidel) by Matanzas poet Carilda Oliver Labra and was presided over by Mario Sabines Lorenzo, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Matanzas, and Marieta Poey Zamora, governor of the province.

During the event, Sabines Lorenzo addressed the people of Matanzas, recalling the province’s role in the nation’s independence struggles.

For her part, Yannara Concepción, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Matanzas, the site of the main activities, denounced the damage caused by the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government on Cuba, as well as the challenges the capital city faces in moving toward greater territorial autonomy.

In the context of the commemoration, membership cards for the Communist Party of Cuba were presented to 67 workers in recognition of their merits in their work, social, and political performance.

The municipality of Matanzas was also awarded Vanguard status, and the work of organizations and institutions such as the Ministry of the Interior, for its contribution to social welfare; Conformat, for its participation in housing construction in neighborhoods undergoing transformation; and the Provincial Transportation Delegation were recognized.

The gala featured performances by prominent artists and groups from the province, including Mariachi Atenas, the Provincial Concert Band, and Maravillas de la Infancia (Children’s Wonders).

The event also served to reaffirm the solidarity of the Cuban people with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of the military blockade imposed by the United States, and to commemorate Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whose centennial will be celebrated in 2026.
