With a massive community participation, the 28 de Septiembre square of Pedro Betancourt municipality hosted the Cubaila sports-recreational project as part of the strategies of the Municipal Sports Department to bring physical culture closer to the population.
To the rhythm of popular dance music, the event included group exercises, sarabandas, gymnastic compositions and judo exhibitions, as well as artistic presentations by children of the Educa a tu hijo program and the Jesús Menéndez Larrondo special education institute of the territory.
Ania Salgado García, Community Physical Activity methodologist, highlighted the potential of this initiative to incorporate citizens into accessible physical routines, promote health and disease prevention, as well as to strengthen family life and create options for a constructive use of free time.
