In Matanzas people defend unity as a flag.
In the Parque de la Libertad and accompanied by the obelisk with the image of the National Hero José Martí, representatives of the Cuba Trade Union (CTC) in Matanzas and its unions raised their voices to support the editorial Nuestra arma estratégica frente a amenazas y agresiones: la unidad, published on July 10th in the Granma newspaper.
Yudianys Aguiar, general secretary of the provincial Union of Public Administration Workers, read a text that alludes to the book Cuba, a failed soft coup, by Doctor of Science Manuel Hevia Frasquieri, a denunciation in which he defined the violent street riots of the summer of 2021 as «a typical subversive operation secretly directed by the CIA and the US intelligence community, promoted through subversive programs».
That investigation and other evidence – the editorial adds – confirm that the U.S. government bears direct responsibility for the July 11th and 12th, 2021 riots, with the tightening of the blockade in the context of COVID-19 and because from its territory individuals and groups were openly incited and financed to commit violations of the law.
«While the factory of lies against Cuba supplies the digital social networks and international media 24 hours a day, the Miami terrorist machinery uses this channel to call for chaos, violence, aggression against the authorities, terrorism and civil disobedience».
One of the paragraphs stresses that «Cuba does not owe gestures to the U.S. nor does the government of that country have the political or moral authority to demand them», and that political differences with respect to the government do not exempt anyone from criminal responsibility for criminal acts or crimes, neither in the Greater Antilles nor in any other nation.
The editorial quotes words pronounced by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz in the Central Report to the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, on April 16th, 2021, in which he stated:
«The unity of the immense majority of Cubans around the Party and the work and ideals of the Revolution has been our fundamental strategic weapon to successfully confront all kinds of threats and aggressions. That is why this unity must be zealously guarded and never accept the division among revolutionaries under false pretexts of greater democracy, because that would be the first step to destroy from within the Revolution itself, Socialism and therefore national independence and fall back under the domination of U.S. imperialism».
In other parks and labor collectives in Matanzas there is also support for the editorial Our strategic weapon against threats and aggressions: unity, acts of support that will continue throughout the week in the morning and afternoon, said to Radio 26 Teresa Montelier, responsible for the Ideological sphere of the Provincial Secretariat of the CTC.
