Electric Company intensifies measures to combat crime.

Matanzas Electric Company, together with the authorities of the territory, intensify the measures to confront crimes that affect the service and the economy of the country.
In 2025, 29 criminal acts have been detected, 17 more than in the same period of the previous year, which are being processed legally and with the pertinence demanded by current times.
These include the theft of angle irons and transformer oil, the theft of electrical conductors, threats to officials and the theft of solar panels.
According to the penal code, and under the current conditions in which the National Electric Power System operates, crimes against this sector may be considered as acts of sabotage against the security of the state and the stability of the nation.
In order to combat illegalities, internal controls and surveillance at key facilities are being strengthened, in addition to closer collaboration with the National Revolutionary Police. Awareness campaigns are also being developed to inform the population about the risks and legal consequences of crimes.
The representatives and workers of Matanzas Electric Company call on the population to report any irregularity or suspicion of theft through the appropriate channels.
