Transformer Breakdowns Resolved in Shorter Timeframes

One hundred electrical transformers are being transported to the national workshop in Havana in order to mitigate the severe shortage of these devices, which in the province of Matanzas affects no fewer than 70,000 inhabitants.

Directors of the Electric Company commented that the solution is expected to materialize during this month to resolve the 55 units reported as faulty up to last July 2.

Specialists indicate that the strategy requires greater fuel consumption, although they consider it very necessary given a population that already adds up to 60 days without electrical service.

Solutions are forecast in less than a week for the transformers in the coastal area of Cárdenas; La Julia, in Matanzas; and Manguito, in Colón. Likewise, those damaged in Carboneras and Perico are expected to be resolved in less than five days.

Authorities from the Party and Government insist on the responsibility of each town, settlement, and residents to strengthen vigilance and proactivity in protecting transformers, as well as to definitively cut off acts of sabotage linked to the theft of dielectric oil.
