Tourism enhances the skills of key operators.

The relevance given to the role of pool operator in Varadero is once again confirmed by the latest training actions aimed at improving the skills of those also known as «piscineros» (pool attendants).

Milton Francisco González Zayas, deputy director of Research and Development at the famous Playa Azul, describes this improvement as a key factor in the way hotel services are perceived at this leisure emporium.

This is another goal accomplished on the road to the professionalization of this profession, which will result in a superior performance of those who ensure satisfaction and hygiene in the pools and contribute to consolidate the preference for the best and most renowned beach in Cuba, said the expert.

Representatives of Islazul, Gran Caribe and Cubanacán have already passed a course that began on June 25 and will continue on Monday, July 17th at the Gaviota hotel group, Gonzalez Zayas announced on his Facebook account.

In this way, he said, pool operators from all Varadero’s facilities will have received training, «which has motivated them and provided them with the knowledge and skills required to improve their performance,» he said.

Gonzalez Zayas pointed out that what has been achieved in the destination is unprecedented, «for that reason, our recognition goes to those who have turned this dream into reality and this journey into a successful trip, especially to the one who has inspired and guided him as a capable, committed and visionary conductor of the train, Osmel Martinez Jimenez, and to the one who has accompanied him as a tireless and competent engineer, Frank Huerta Lopez.»

He also thanked the Iberostar Bella Costa hotel, venue of one of the phases of the course, and the Training Center of the Ministry of Tourism in this western province.

The hotel pool attendant is responsible for daily monitoring the levels of chemicals in the water, cleaning and maintaining the filtration systems, supervising the cleanliness of the surrounding areas and regularly inspecting the facilities for safety problems.
